“Rap about my sister” by Female 21
by TheCat · Published · Updated
I remember coming home and findin you on the floor,
Then a few seconds later, heard a knock at the door,
You were, just lay there, lookin confused,
A pair of sunglasses on to cover your bruises,
The police ask what’s happened and you say ” I just fell”,
But he’s been beating you for months, you’re just too scared to tell.
I wish you’d just tell the truth but I know you’re afraid,
I felt so useless seein my sister in that state,
She could barely open her eye,
She was in a bad way,
I begged her to tell the police cause that man’s gotta pay,
I held her in my arms, told her I’m gonna stay,
If he knows that I’m here, maybe he’ll stay away,
So I stayed there a few weeks,
Helped her get back on her feet.
She was still traumatised and shoutin in her sleep,
I told her I’d come back whenever she needs.
A few days later her name popped up on a text,
And to my surprise she was back with her ex,
All of a sudden I’m filled with dread,
She fell asleep after he gave her her meds,
Until she was awoken by him settin fire to her bed,
She ended up in hospital, lucky she’s no dead.
I feel like she hadn’t listened to anything I said,
I didn’t really understand, he’d got inside her head,
He would call her fat and ugly then say no one else would want her,
Now she’s found a decent guy, but the memories still haunt her.
