“I Wish” by Female 18
by TheCat · Published · Updated
Since a very young age I have watched domestic abuse between my mother and father. Which had huge effects on my life.
It all started at school. I would sit in the classroom wondering what was going on at home? Unable to concentrate on my school work. My teachers were none the wiser, so after a few years their patience had worn thin with me and I was moved to non mainstream school.
Where I met people with all types of different problems.
Still experiencing this horrible domestic issues, I couldn’t take it anymore.
So, after school I’d avoid going home and after a few hours it would be reported to local police as a missing person.
So they would find me and return me home.
There was no escaping this nightmare I was living.
Unfortunately I started picking up on this horrible behaviour at the age of just 14.
I had 3 assault charges.
I was in with the wrong crowd of friends and since then my life went down hill.
I’m now 18 in prison and looking at a long sentence.
I blame it on watching domestic abuse from such a young age.
I have an uncontrollable temper.
I now wish I had spoke about this vulgar situation and got help years ago and maybe I wouldn’t be in this horrid situation today.
So to anyone living this awful experience, I would strongly advise yous to seek help as soon as possible.
Because in years to come you could be thankful.
