In another collaborative feature, India-based publication Your Story celebrates female entrepreneurship and our steps into the Indian market. The article is part of their HerStory segment and has journalist Tanvi Dubey in conversation with our very own Marianne Rugard Jarvstrat, who speaks about our aspirations and passion to build an accessible global publishing space for young voices in India.
A big thank you to Tanvi and the YS team for the feature!
Some thoughts from our writers in India...
I am excited about the Lore competition since English is my favourite subject and I like to explore my creativity. I like to write short articles related to sports as I am passionate about it and I am hoping to enhance my writing skills from this experience.

I love to spend all my free time reading books since entering the world of imagination makes me feel extremely relaxed. Also, I have this desire of becoming an author when I grow up. I wrote a few short stories some time ago and feel that the MageQuill competition and my mentor’s support will be helpful in fulfilling my endeavor.
– Annem Saad (Year 4), The Ardee School, India
I firmly believe: ‘Learning is from the womb to the tomb.’ Each day teaches us something new and I’m certainly going to learn a lot from our budding writers. I’m looking forward to the Lore competition and feel that it will be an extremely enriching process for them. I’m excited to read the fascinating tales they weave!

To be able to give your thoughts a platform, a voice of their own, there’s nothing better than to let them flow out on a piece of paper. […] This is what writing means to me – my freedom , my very own medium of expression. Something, that a normal 9-5 desk job with all the coding environments won’t ever be able to give me. And to pursue writing as my career, i think MageQuill would be perfect. Allowing writers to be heard […] is just where i would want my career to take me. It’s not just any online platform or tool [that] displays our stories but it also mentors people to enhance their writing skills. I think it would be the perfect platform for me , if given a chance.

Creativity is innate and to break through the normal stance you need innovation. They both run parallel. A mind full of creative and innovative ideas can set you apart from the crowd […] All those names whom we recall today are the ones with innovative ideas that turned into inventions that made our lives simpler.

A student in very basic terms is someone whose job is to grasp the knowledge that is all around us and learn to apply that knowledge to whichever field it is required in. As such the most important aspect of student is the ability to listen. [But] we are complex beings with many facets and have just as much a desire to express ourselves as the desire to be curious about the world.
