Reflections 190210: Red Skye at night, shepherd’s delight. (Alternative title: Dragons fighting, red void ensues, brave airlineers push through.)
The sky was brilliant tonight,so I hastily picked up my camera for a quick walk up the hill behind the house to see if I could capture some stories on film.
Getting a bit further up the hill, it became apparent that there were indeed violent things aflight tonight. Indeed, I spotted no less than three dragons in the cloud formations over mossytop, two of them obviously engaged in mortal combat.
After the dragons had vanished, a circular outline in the clouds remained, illustrating the void – now centred just to the left of mossytop near the very flat peak of Yellow mountain. (Spot the circle!)
At the same time, the snowy peaks of the Cuillen were bathed in a clear deep red, not ominious at all, just … a bit otherworldly.
And of course, civilisation is everpresent so when I turned again towards the void and zoomed as deep into the void as my camera could manage, I was able to capture three faint dots of aircrafts with condensation streaks clearly visible actually in the process of crossing “the void”. But I am sure those were airliners and quite likely occupied by far larger numbers of business passengers and vacationing families than of the intrepid explorers that should really be the characters crossing the void in this setting! I cannot say if I am disappointed or proud of our civilisation for this undramatic turn of events.
I saw no sheep on the hill, but maybe that’s why the shepherd is delighted?
