Hello there, MageQuillers (sorry, too late, we have already named you!)
Welcome to our world, where creativity is the norm. Now that we have created this space that we want all of you to be a part of, let us (nicely) introduce ourselves.
We are a small bunch from up in the Scottish Highlands, trying to make publishing more accessible to young people across the globe. We work on this creative writing and publishing tool, MageQuill (that you can sign up to and begin writing on right here!), that gives young budding authors a virtual writing-pad to build their stories and ideas within an interactive global community of mentors, peers, readers, and educators. We also have an awesome commenting system that we love using to interact with our authors, readers and mentors, and be a (hopefully, helpful) part of their storytelling process.
Why MageQuill Moments?
Glad you asked. This, right here, is our soapbox – because why not add an unbridled, free-flowing space for fun and creative expression? Writing and publishing stories can be slow processes, and with Moments we aim to engage with everything in-between, and keep our love of creativity alive.
Head on over to our Moments in Time segment to indulge in some quiet, day-to-day moments and thoughts. Take a pause from the rush of life to reflect with the section Pauses; or lend a listening ear to voices that have gone unheard in (Un)spoken; or catch some visual treats from our abode up here in the Scottish Highlands in Moods.
The Cat Asks section sees our mascot, The Blue Scottish Cat, quizzing people about how and in what ways their work is creative, allowing us to explore “creativity” across different forms and spaces.
The What You Never Asked series has the Cat getting up-close and quirky with professionals; being a Cat, however, its inquisitive interests veer more homewards than towards the profession itself. Not that we are complaining, we like seeing the Human behind the Professional.
Media Moments is a celebration of our moments in the sun, so to speak. We also have a trademark Meet the Team feature to get you familiar with a few faces up here!
So, what is the Blue Cat about?
The Cat here is our partner-in-crime, and the paws behind Moments. This is The Cat’s abode, and we are just here to make quick introductions while it is prancing about to get its creative juices running.
Which is about everything we have to tell you about The Cat – it likes to think of itself as enigmatic, a mysterious blue streak slinking in and out of the office stealing our freshly-baked donuts from the co-op. As much as we hate to admit it, it always succeeds.
As we hand over the reins, here’s hoping you lot figure out The Cat better than we have!
